FAQs

WHAT IS TAI CHI?

  • Tai Chi exercises the whole body – including the muscular, skeletal and circulatory systems, as well as the tendons, joints, connective tissues and organs – developing a relaxed and strong body.
  • The movements are soft, continuous and gentle on the body, thus strengthening all parts and systems of the body; eventually becoming an internal exercise.
  • Mentally, the mind is focused, concentrating on the movements; thereby allowing anyone to participate in its’ health benefits.
  • The moves – or form, as we call it – are named after animals and the movements represented, i.e., Ward Off Monkey, White Stork Spreads Wings and Creeping Low Like a Snake, to name a few.
  • Our Tai Chi form is a modified Yang Style that originated in China.  Once the form made its way to the western world, the moves were modified to focus on health benefits and for the ease of learning.
